افتراضي رد: شو الفرق؟ بين الراوت والراوتر

Salam

Actually the router is a network device that use the information (routes) on the routing table to forward each packet it receive

For example

imagine a router has two networks (interfaces) directly connected, let say network A and B

and one PC in network A send a packet to another PC in network B, the router will receive this packet with the source IP from network A and destination IP from network B, it will search it's routing table and look to the routes exist, of course we have to put on mind that routers always are looking on the destination IP in order to know to which way they should forward the packet, back to the scenario, the router find network B in it's routing table and forward the packet outside the correct interface

In summary

Router is a network device who connects different networks and take the right decision to forward packets based on the routes on the routing table

The route is an entry on the routing table which gives the router the right info like if you want to reach this network take this way

I hope my explanation clarify your doubts

please let me know if you want any more help on that

GOOD LUCK
